A stable roof begins with one conversation.
The Eviction Prevention Assistance Program helps vulnerable Colorado households facing eviction stay housed by combining emergency rental assistance with job training, mentorship, and financial literacy support.
Support that meets families before the eviction date, not after.
The Eviction Prevention Assistance Program at Hope Humanitarian Foundation is dedicated to empowering vulnerable Coloradans by providing targeted support to individuals and families facing eviction.
Our mission is to equip participants with the resources, skills, and opportunities needed to achieve economic stability and maintain personal dignity.
What we’re built to deliver
Four commitments guide every decision the program makes.
Support Vulnerable Households
Assist at least 50 low-income families and individuals facing eviction each year.
Financial Assistance
Offer up to $3,000 per household for overdue rent and related housing costs to prevent homelessness.
Holistic Support Services
Provide wraparound services, including job training, mentorship, and financial literacy programs.
Community Engagement
Foster partnerships with local organizations, schools, and employers to build a supportive network.
Households at or below 80% of Area Median Income (AMI) may qualify for assistance.
To qualify, households must:
- ✓ Have an income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
- ✓ Demonstrate financial hardship through documentation, such as job loss or medical emergencies.
- ✓ Present a valid eviction notice or a demand for payment from their landlord.
The path to stability
Three steps carry every household from first contact to a confirmed decision.
Outreach & Marketing
Community events and informational sessions, run with local schools, libraries, and community organizations, connect us with vulnerable households.
Application
Households complete a user-friendly application online or at the Hope Humanitarian Foundation office, providing proof of income and their eviction notice.
Case Evaluation
Our dedicated team assesses each application to ensure equitable, timely access to resources.
More than a rent check
Assistance is designed to stabilize a household today and strengthen it for the long run.
Financial Assistance
Direct payments to landlords cover overdue rent, up to a maximum of $3,000 per household.
Job Training & Skills Development
Vocational training and career readiness programs for adults help participants enhance their employability.
Mentorship Programs
Families are paired with mentors who provide guidance, support, and resources to navigate challenges.
Accountability, tracked openly
We prioritize accountability and transparency. Our program tracks the number of households assisted, total funds disbursed, and success rates, including the percentage of families that maintain stable housing after receiving assistance.
We don’t do this alone
We collaborate closely with organizations across the community.
Local Employers & Job Training Organizations
Facilitating job placements and skills development for participants.
Schools & Libraries
Reaching families and providing educational resources.
Community Leaders
Building a network of support and advocacy for those in need.
By establishing the Eviction Prevention Assistance Program, we’re creating a foundation for future funding opportunities. This program will serve as a model for pursuing additional grants focused on economic stability and community engagement.
